TrackMaker & RTmap

Over many years, a wide range of data acquisition programs for Microsoft Windows Mobile and Windows CE handheld computers were developed for both the TrackMaker and RTmap systems, supporting a broad variety of geophysical instruments.
These legacy programs remain in active use by many field teams. Although they are no longer under development, they are fully supported and are supplied with current versions of the corresponding data-processing software (TrackMaker and RTM).

All data-processing programs are fully backward compatible and can read all previous data file formats created for a given instrument.

Availability of legacy Nav (TrackMaker system) and RTmap (RTmap system) data acquisition programs is listed below for each supported instrument.
There are three main program variants, designated according to the Windows Mobile / Windows CE version and handheld computer type:

• 1. Windows Mobile 6.1–6.5 (Juniper Systems devices)

  For devices manufactured by Juniper Systems (Archer, Allegro), program names include the postfix wm, for example: Nav31wm, Nav61MK2wm, RTmap31wm, etc.

• 2. Windows Mobile 6.1–6.5 (Other manufacturers)

  For other handheld brands (Trimble, Ashtech, etc.), program names include the postfix wg, for example: Nav31wg, Nav61MK2wg, RTmap31wg, etc.

• 3. Windows CE (.NET v4.2 – AllegroCX)

  For Windows CE (.NET v4.2) devices, primarily the AllegroCX manufactured by Juniper Systems (and equivalent rebranded units), program names do not include a postfix, for example: Nav31, Nav61MK2, RTmap31, etc.

Each Nav and RTmap program is a stand-alone executable and does not require installation.
To run a program:

• 1. Download the executable (.exe) file
• 2. Copy it to the handheld device (recommended location: Program Files)
• 3. Launch the program directly

All programs can be tested using Demo Mode with your handheld computer, instrument, and GPS receiver.
When the program starts and any command button is pressed, a Software Key dialog will appear.
Select “Ignore” to enter Demo Mode

Demo Mode characteristics:

• Operates identically to the full version
• Recorded data files are intentionally short
• Monitoring mode runs indefinitely
• Allows verification of:
  • instrument communication
  • GPS/RTK/RTS integration
  • display modes
  • overall performance with your system configuration

(Nav programs belong to the TrackMaker system; RTmap programs belong to the RTmap system. Each is supplied with its corresponding data-processing software.).
