The RTmap system for Geonics EM61-LX2 consists of two separate but fully integrated programs:
RTmap61LX2 – field data acquisition and real-mapping software for Windows 11/10–based tablets and field laptops
RTM61LX2 – Windows-based data-processing and XYZ-file generation program
The EM61-LX2 is a UXO-optimized version of the EM61 family, designed specifically for munitions response, clearance operations, anomaly detection, and high-sensitivity metal detection. It supports one-sensor or dual-sensor configurations and employs advanced processing to reduce soil magnetic susceptibility effects, making it exceptionally effective in challenging ground conditions.
RTmap61LX2 – Data Logging & Target Detection for EM61-LX2
The RTmap61LX2 program provides specialized real-time UXO detection capabilities tailored to the EM61-LX2’s unique sensing design. As the operator moves through the survey area, the software displays a real-time spatial color map of EM61-LX2 amplitudes, allowing instant recognition of potential buried metallic targets.
Intensified real-time anomaly response optimized for UXO decision-making
The program continuously monitors:
EM61-LX2 sensor channels
battery level and coil/cable conditions
GPS/RTK/RTS status
user-defined GPS Warning Mask settings
It records EM61-LX2 data and GPS positions simultaneously, displaying real-time results as profiles, equalizer bars, numerical values, and a pseudo-grid map.
A file-append function allows operators to load previously collected grids, enabling repeatability, quality control, and precise relocation of survey stations—important for multi-day UXO operations.
RTmap61LX2 - Setting System Parameters
RTmap61LX2 is compatible with virtually any GPS/GNSS receiver supporting NMEA messages and integrates with selected robotic total stations (including systems that output pseudo-GGA SLAM data).
Night, dust, smoke, or low-visibility conditions do not limit use—clearance operators can continue surveying with full navigation and QA/QC support.
RTM61LX2 – Data Processing Software for EM61-LX2
The RTM61LX2 program processes EM61-LX2 field data by applying:
